The blackbird was once a shy forest bird. It is a classic cultural bird and feels at home in our gardens as long as it can find enough insects and worms. A morning in spring without the song of the blackbird would be dreary and sad.
This illustration is a collage of old paper - digitised and then printed on fat cardboard. The material (wood pulp board) is the same as that used for beer mats: thick, stable and yet light. The fibrous structure of the cardboard shines through the motif.
Thanks to its strength, the picture can also be placed on a shelf - without a frame.
